About UPS & Our Culture

Friday evening through Sunday night — that is when the UPS weekend operation runs at its highest volume, and it is when our Weekend Warehouse Package Handlers earn some of the strongest hourly rates in our entire package center network. If your Monday-through-Friday schedule is locked and you are hunting for weekend warehouse jobs that actually pay well, offer union benefits, and leave every weekday untouched, UPS weekend shifts were designed specifically for you. We are one of the only employers in the logistics industry offering weekend warehouse jobs near me with full Teamsters union representation, meaning your weekend hours come with the same contractual protections and pay guarantees as any full-time role.

What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)

"I have a full-time desk job Monday through Friday and I work UPS weekends to pay down my mortgage faster. The weekend differential on top of the union wage makes the hourly rate genuinely excellent, and I get my full weekdays completely untouched. In two years I have built a serious financial cushion on this schedule. If you are looking for legitimate weekend warehouse jobs near me that respect your weekday life, UPS is it." - Current Weekend Package Handler, Indianapolis, IN.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Weekend Warehouse Package Handler, you work Friday evening through Sunday sort shifts inside our package center, processing the weekend's elevated residential delivery and pickup volume that builds throughout the week and peaks on Saturday and Sunday sort windows.

  • Weekend Volume Processing: Sort, load, and unload the high-density package volume that accumulates through the week, operating at peak throughput across Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday shifts to clear the facility for Monday morning delivery routes.
  • Weekend Surge Handling: Navigate the additional volume generated by weekend e-commerce orders and residential pickups, adapting quickly to higher-than-weekday sort targets that UPS weekend shifts routinely reach.
  • Trailer Loading & Unloading: Pull inbound packages from arriving trailers and build outbound loads in package cars and linehaul lanes, using UPS-approved stacking methods to maintain load quality standards across all weekend shifts.

Benefits & Perks

UPS Weekend Warehouse Package Handlers receive a weekend shift differential on top of the Teamsters base union wage. Full medical, dental, and vision benefits, pension accrual, paid personal time, and UPS Earn & Learn tuition assistance apply regardless of your part-time weekend schedule. Weekly paychecks are direct-deposited every Friday. Your entire Monday-through-Friday schedule remains completely untouched.
