Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shopify Website Builder. We need 1, potentially 2 Shopify projects. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing Shopify online stores that deliver exceptional user experiences and drive sales growth. Your expertise will help transform creative concepts into fully functional, scalable, and visually appealing web storefronts. This is a contract position. Compensation is negotiable based on previous experience, portfolio and timing.

We already have a theme selected and particular design in mind.

Responsibilities

  • Build, customize, and maintain Shopify e-commerce websites using Shopify’s Liquid templating language and front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, SCSS, and Bootstrap to ensure responsive design projects.
  • Develop engaging user interfaces by wireframing and translating UX/UI designs into fully functional web pages that enhance customer engagement and usability.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and web services to enable smooth transaction processes and real-time data updates.
  • Optimize website performance through effective use of developer tools, version control systems like GitHub and SVN, and implementing CI/CD pipelines for continuous deployment.
  • Collaborate with designers, content creators, and marketing teams to implement SEO best practices and improve site visibility on search engines.
  • Manage database integrations with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Microsoft SQL Server to ensure data integrity and scalability of the e-commerce platform.
  • Conduct unit testing, troubleshoot bugs, and perform regular updates to ensure the website’s security, functionality, and compliance with industry standards.

Experience

  • Proven experience building and customizing Shopify stores from scratch or through theme modifications.
  • Strong knowledge of front-end development including HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/SCSS), JavaScript (TypeScript), and JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Familiarity with back-end technologies like PHP, Python, or Node.js for API integrations and server-side scripting.
  • Experience working with version control tools such as GitHub or SVN within Agile software development environments.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
