About UPS & Our Culture

At UPS, we believe the best part-time warehouse jobs should offer more than just a paycheck — they should open doors. Our part-time Package Handler positions are the most popular entry point into the UPS network for students, parents, and second-job seekers across the country. When you explore UPS part-time jobs, you are joining a Teamsters union workforce with benefits that full-time employers routinely cannot match. These part-time warehouse jobs near me deliver real union wages, real medical coverage, and a real pathway to a full-time UPS career — all on a schedule built around your life.

What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)

"I took this part-time role while finishing my degree and honestly never planned to stay. Three years later I am still here because UPS's part-time benefits are better than most full-time jobs I have seen. My tuition is fully covered by Earn & Learn, I work four hours a day before my afternoon classes, and the Teamsters medical coverage is genuinely excellent. I cannot think of a better UPS part-time warehouse job for a student." - Current Part-Time Package Handler, Charlotte, NC.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Part-Time Package Handler, you work a focused 3.5 to 5 hour sort shift inside our package center, loading, unloading, and sorting parcels that keep our delivery network running precisely on schedule. The short shift window makes this the most schedule-friendly part-time warehouse job in the logistics market.

  • Parcel Sorting: Read destination zip codes and routing barcodes on packages moving down the conveyor belt, manually diverting each parcel to the correct outbound chute or belt without hesitation.
  • Package Car Loading: Stack packages inside UPS delivery vehicles in precise stop-sequence order, ensuring drivers can execute their routes efficiently from the moment they pull out of the building.
  • Trailer Unloading: Pull packages from inbound 53-foot trailers at a sustained pace, placing every parcel label-side up on the inbound belt for system scanning and sortation.

Benefits & Perks

UPS part-time Package Handlers receive Teamsters union medical, dental, and vision benefits, a pension contribution, and the UPS Earn & Learn tuition assistance program covering up to $25,000 in college education costs. Paid personal time and weekly paychecks are included. This is one of the few part-time warehouse jobs in America that comes with full union representation from day one.
