Packing and Shipping Associate
Atlas Architectural Metals, Inc. | Carrollton, TX

Job Overview

Atlas Architectural Metals is a Texas manufacturer and distributor of aluminum storefront, entrance, and curtain wall systems, plus custom-fabricated doors and frames. Fast lead times and in-stock inventory are what our customers count on us for, and the shipping team is where that promise gets kept. We're looking for a detail-oriented Packing and Shipping Associate to join our Carrollton team. This is an entry-level position, and we'll train you on our products and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and pack customer orders using picking lists and packing tickets, verifying part numbers, finishes, lengths, and quantities
  • Prepare aluminum extrusions, fabricated doors and frames, hardware, and accessories for shipment, using protective packaging so finished material arrives clean and undamaged
  • Load outgoing shipments and unload incoming material safely, using proper manual handling techniques
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely
  • Check every order for accuracy, condition, and labeling before it leaves the building
  • Help keep floor inventory organized and accurate through stocking, stock rotation, and regular counts
  • Work with sales and fabrication teams on shortages, damaged material, and rush orders
  • Follow all safety procedures, including required PPE

Requirements

  • Ability to safely and consistently lift at least 50 lbs, and to move and handle heavy, long, or awkward material
  • Comfortable reading a tape measure and verifying lengths and quantities, with basic math skills for counts
  • Strong attention to detail when matching orders to paperwork
  • Willingness to learn and follow warehouse safety practices, including PPE use
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and takes pride in getting orders right

A Plus (Not Required)

  • Prior warehouse, shipping and receiving, or order-picking experience
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience
  • Familiarity with aluminum extrusions, glazing, doors, or other building materials

Training and Growth

No experience with our products? No problem. We provide in-house training on our products, our processes, and safe equipment operation, including forklift certification. You'll be part of a hands-on team in a working warehouse and fabrication environment, handling the materials that go into real commercial buildings.
