Hindi Audio Transcript Editor (AI Training)

About the Role

What if your ear for Hindi and obsession with precision could directly shape how AI understands spoken language? We're looking for detail-oriented Hindi Audio Transcript Editors in the Toronto area to clean up, correct, and polish audio transcripts - ensuring every word, timestamp, and formatting detail is exactly right.

This is hands-on, deeply focused work that sits at the intersection of language, audio, and AI. If you're the kind of person who notices when a word is slightly off, a timestamp is misaligned, or a formatting rule hasn't been followed - this role was made for you.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to Hindi speakers across Canada. No prior AI experience needed - just native-level Hindi, strong listening skills, and a commitment to word-level accuracy.

What You'll Do

  • Verify and adjust word-level timing and alignment to match the audio precisely
  • Apply detailed style and formatting guidelines consistently across all tasks
  • Flag ambiguous audio, overlapping speech, or segments requiring special attention
  • Maintain exceptional quality and consistency across large volumes of transcript data
  • Work independently and asynchronously - fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Native or near-native fluency in Hindi with excellent listening comprehension
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented - you catch what others miss at the word level
  • Comfortable working with exact timing and precise text-to-audio alignment
  • Able to follow detailed style guides and formatting instructions with consistency
  • Strong concentration and patience when working through lengthy audio files
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
  • No prior AI or tech experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience as a transcriptionist, court reporter, or stenographer
  • Background in subtitle editing, closed-captioning, or dubbing
  • Linguistics training or academic background in Hindi or related languages
  • Prior work with annotation platforms, labeling tools, or transcription software
  • Familiarity with audio editing tools or media production workflows
  • Experience in translation, localization, or language quality assurance

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible - work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Contribute to AI development that directly improves how technology understands Hindi speech
  • Build expertise in a growing field at the intersection of language and AI
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
