Forensic Services team at East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU)
on a
Student Placement
to get hands-on experience in a fascinating and fast-paced field.

This is an unpaid placement for 10 months, based at various locations and labs near junction 27 of the M1, Nottinghamshire, or with our CSI teams in Derby, Chesterfield, Ripley, or Leicestershire.

What You\'ll Be Doing

  • Undertaking general clerical and administrative duties
  • Providing professional customer service
  • Booking exhibits in and out of the unit

You Need To

  • Be studying a Forensic Science course at university within the East Midlands region
  • Have been resident in the UK for the past 5 consecutive years

Security Requirements
This post requires regular access to sensitive material and applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo enhanced security clearance before taking up the post. The material may be sensitive to the UK and may therefore be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances, dual nationals (of which one element is British) may be granted access. However, if potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed, the post holder will not be permitted access to the systems or material required for the role and will not therefore be able to perform their duties. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or achieve the required levels of security clearance requirements cannot be offered the post.
