Weekend On-Call Coordinator – Remote | Portland Metro & Central Oregon

Comfort Keepers is seeking a dependable, organized Weekend On-Call Coordinator to provide remote after-hours support for our Portland Metro and Central Oregon offices.

This is a remote, as-needed position; however, we are ideally seeking someone who lives in or is familiar with the Portland Metro or Central Oregon area. Familiarity with the communities we serve is helpful when coordinating last-minute caregiver coverage and responding to scheduling needs across our service areas.

*This is an ideal supplemental position for someone with home care, caregiving, healthcare scheduling, staffing, or care coordination experience.*

About Comfort Keepers

Comfort Keepers is an in-home care agency providing non-medical care and support to seniors and other adults who need assistance remaining safe and independent at home. Our local teams coordinate caregivers and client services throughout the Portland Metro and Central Oregon areas.

Schedule & On-Call Coverage

  • Friday: 5:00 PM–9:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM–9:00 PM
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM–9:00 PM

These are availability windows, not scheduled working hours.

This position does not involve continuously answering or fielding incoming calls. After-hours calls are screened through our answering service, and the On-Call Coordinator promptly returns calls when an urgent or time-sensitive matter requires weekend attention.

Active working hours vary based on weekend demand. Some weekends may require very little active work, while busier weekends may require several hours. No minimum number of active working hours is guaranteed.

Overnight calls do not require an immediate response and may be addressed during the next on-call coverage period.

Compensation

  • $100 stipend for each assigned weekend
  • $20/hour for time actively spent handling authorized on-call matters
  • Part-time W-2 position

What You'll Handle

  • Caregiver call-outs, late arrivals, and no-shows
  • Urgent scheduling and shift-coverage needs
  • Contacting available caregivers to secure last-minute coverage
  • Time-sensitive client, family, or caregiver concerns
  • Medical emergencies or hospitalizations requiring agency follow-up
  • Escalating serious or clinical concerns to the appropriate manager or nurse
  • Brief documentation and communication of any necessary office follow-up

This role is specifically focused on responding to weekend on-call needs. General administrative work, projects, proactive schedule work, or unrelated tasks are not part of the position unless specifically requested or approved by management.

What We're Looking For

  • Prior experience in home care, caregiving, healthcare scheduling, staffing, care coordination, or a similar role strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with the Portland Metro and/or Central Oregon area preferred
  • Dependable with strong follow-through and sound judgment
  • Strong phone and written communication skills
  • Comfortable handling urgent situations calmly and professionally
  • Comfortable coordinating last-minute caregiver coverage
  • Able to work independently and follow established escalation procedures
  • Comfortable learning scheduling and documentation systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling client and employee information
  • Reliable phone and internet access during assigned coverage periods

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual
  • Paid training
  • Supplemental benefits available with no minimum weekly-hour requirement
  • Retirement benefits
  • Remote, supplemental position
