Video Editor, YouTube

Snowball is looking for a Video Editor to shape and elevate YouTube-first content for Proton, one of Europe’s fastest-growing tech companies building the internet’s most trusted privacy-first ecosystem.

About Our Client

With over 100M users worldwide, Proton offers encrypted services including Proton Mail, Proton VPN, Proton Drive, and Proton Pass, all rooted in end-to-end encryption, open-source principles, and digital freedom. Their mission is to provide a more ethical and responsible alternative to Big Tech, helping people everywhere reclaim control of their digital lives.

The Opportunity

Launched from scratch, Proton’s YouTube channel has already grown to 40K subscribers, 1.2M views, and 10M brand impressions, and is quickly becoming a trusted voice in the privacy-first movement.

As Video Editor, you’ll be the creative engine behind Proton’s YouTube videos, crafting complex cybersecurity and privacy topics into accessible, compelling, and visually dynamic stories. From raw footage to polished publish-ready content, you’ll own the post-production pipeline and set the bar for quality, pacing, and audience-first storytelling.

You’ll collaborate closely with Proton’s Video Producer and Snowball’s YouTube growth experts (who’ve scaled channels to 27M+ subscribers and 10B+ views) to push creative boundaries and ensure Proton’s channel delivers high-value content that resonates globally.

What You’ll Do

  • Edit and deliver long-form YouTube videos that bring Proton’s mission and products to life.

  • Transform raw footage into polished, engaging stories through expert use of pacing, sound, graphics, and motion.

  • Develop repeatable editing systems and templates to streamline production.

  • Collaborate with producers, creatives, and Proton’s marketing/product teams to align edits with brand voice and strategic goals.

  • Experiment with new storytelling styles, graphics packages, and editing techniques to keep content fresh and audience-driven.

  • Implement feedback quickly and continuously refine content based on YouTube performance data.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years editing for YouTube-first or digital-first content, with a strong portfolio showcasing documentary-style, educational, or edutainment formats.

  • A master of pacing, narrative structure, and visual storytelling that keeps audiences engaged.

  • Strong technical expertise in editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar).

  • Passionate about digital freedom and technology, with the ability to make technical topics visually compelling.

  • Highly organized, efficient, and proactive, able to manage multiple edits in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Points If You

  • Have created repeatable editing systems or style guides for YouTube channels.

  • Have motion graphics or animation skills to enhance storytelling.

  • Have worked with tech, SaaS, or cybersecurity brands.
