This is an unconventional but high-impact role at the intersection of systems, data, product analytics, GTM analytics, and AI. You will be trusted with connecting and building the software that powers smarter, faster decision-making for our business.<br><br>Today, our data, dashboards, and insights are spread across disconnected systems. As part of a small Finance + Data team, you'll focus on improving how these systems communicate, building the underlying infrastructure that enables Product, GTM, and Leadership teams to access the right insights at the right time.<br><br>But beyond unifying GTM, Finance, and Product data, automating workflows, and building scalable integrations - you'll lay the foundation for our own AI-enabled insights and internal tools, such as churn forecasting or internal AI agents that can surface contextual business intelligence. (Think: an agent that can whip up a Monthly Business Review with all the relevant, important information.) We're eager to invest in advanced AI-powered internal tooling that will move the needle, and this Senior Engineer will be responsible for helping us build the brain and backbone of a next-generation business engine.<br><br><strong><strong>You are</strong></strong><br><ul><li>A Senior+ engineer with 5+ years of experience in a hands-on software engineer, data engineer, or systems engineer role with a proven ability to build scalable systems at the intersection of data, business, and product.<br><ul><li>Full-stack working knowledge of Python/TypeScript/JavaScript to manage product analytics instrumentation in SaaS apps.</li><li>Querying and implementing ETL processes across disparate databases</li><li>Familiar with modern cloud data stacks (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Snowflake)</li><li>Experienced with implementing and managing product analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Segment)</li><li>Experienced with (or excited by!) AI and statistical or other machine learning concepts like predictive modeling, AI agents, and automation to enhance workflows and decision-making.</li></ul></li><li>Comfortable owning the full lifecycle: from scoping business needs to designing, building, and delivering and maintaining technical solutions. While you'll work closely and collaboratively with the Finance + Data team, we expect you to be your own Product Manager in many ways. You'll interface with different teams, scope the work that solves their problems, and translate it to technical deliverables.</li><li>Excited by and attuned to the mechanics of modern SaaS businesses. You'll need to understand and deeply integrate yourself into various functions at Close to best empower our team.</li><li>Driven by a strong sense of accountability and ownership. As a pioneer in this role and the only dedicated Engineer working on these problems, you'll be responsible for the implementation, effectiveness, and maintenance of your work.</li><li>Located in the US (ET, CT, MT, PT)</li></ul><br><br><strong><strong>You will</strong></strong><br><ul><li>Architect, build, and maintain integrations between GTM systems, product analytics platforms, and data warehouses.</li><li>Own administration and optimization of key platforms, ensuring data integrity and usability.</li><li>Collaborate with Product and Engineering to instrument events, validate data, on product usage and engagement</li><li>Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance to translate business needs into robust technical solutions</li><li>Build automation and AI-enabled tools to reduce manual work and improve decision-making.</li></ul><br><br><strong>Benefits</strong><br><ul><li>Competitive compensation including an organization-wide goal-based bonus</li><li>Paid Time Off: 5 Weeks PTO upon joining + Winter Holiday Break.
