Part-Time YouTube Video Editor | Taylor & Lauren

$25/hour | Approximately 4 hours per week | Remote — U.S. Only

About the Role

We're Taylor & Lauren, a couple growing our YouTube channel, Taylor & Lauren — Our Life Unfiltered. We're looking for a creative, reliable video editor to join our team long-term and help us create engaging, personality-driven vlog content.

We want someone who understands storytelling, pacing, and audience retention. Our style is modern, natural, and entertaining — with tasteful music, sound effects, and creative edits that keep viewers watching without feeling cheesy or overproduced.

Responsibilities

  • Edit YouTube vlog-style videos of varying lengths.
  • Create engaging edits with strong pacing, storytelling, and audience retention.
  • Incorporate properly licensed music, sound effects, and tasteful transitions.
  • Remove unnecessary pauses and keep videos entertaining and cohesive.
  • Communicate proactively about deadlines, progress, and additional editing time.
  • Implement feedback and maintain a consistent style as our channel grows.

Requirements

  • Experience editing YouTube videos, vlogs, or lifestyle content.
  • Strong creative instincts and an understanding of what keeps viewers engaged.
  • Professional editing software and reliable equipment.
  • Access to licensed music and sound effects libraries suitable for monetized YouTube content.
  • Must currently reside in the United States. No international applicants.
  • Must be LGBTQ+ friendly or an affirming ally. Our channel features a same-sex couple, and we value an inclusive, respectful working relationship.

Compensation & Expectations

  • $25/hour, approximately 4 hours per week.
  • Around $100 per episode, depending on editing time and complexity.
  • Flexible remote schedule with agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Additional hours must be discussed and approved in advance.
  • Must sign a written agreement addressing content ownership, confidentiality, and restrictions on unauthorized use or distribution of our footage and videos.

How to Apply

Email teamtaylorandlauren@gmail.com with:

  • A brief introduction and confirmation that you are U.S.-based.
  • Links to your portfolio or examples of YouTube videos you've edited.
  • Your editing software and music/sound effects resources.
  • Your typical turnaround time.

We're looking for someone with great taste, strong communication skills, and a passion for creating authentic, engaging content who wants to grow with our channel long-term.

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
