Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clerk Tracy to join our healthcare administrative team. In this vital role, you will serve as the front-line support for medical office operations, ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and efficient management of electronic health records (EHR). Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will contribute to providing exceptional patient service and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities

  • Manage patient appointments, scheduling, and cancellations using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
  • Verify insurance coverage, process medical billing, and handle collections related to Medicare and other health plans.
  • Review and update medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Assist patients with check-in procedures, collect co-pays, and provide excellent customer service at the front desk.
  • Support clinical staff by preparing documentation reviews, coding procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 codes, and maintaining accurate care plans.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools for data entry, report generation, and filing of medical documents.
  • Communicate effectively via phone with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers while demonstrating proper phone etiquette and professionalism.

Skills

  • Proven experience in medical office administration with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (ICD-9/10, CPT), Medicare processes, and health insurance protocols.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to review documentation thoroughly and maintain meticulous medical records.
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
  • Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred to navigate clinical workflows seamlessly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications along with strong computer skills for data entry and record management.
  • Exceptional customer service skills combined with phone communication expertise and professional phone etiquette.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) management systems such as Epic or Meditech is essential for success in this role.
